The Companies we selected were mostly founded within the past two years and secured seed or later-stage funding in 2024. Based on this, we further refined our selection from the perspectives of investment institutions, founding teams, and company visions, ultimately identifying 100 startups as our initial research subjects.

The 2025 edition of the Emerging AI 100
01. Numbers
Classifying by funding stage, there are 56 startups at the seed stage, with an average total funding amount of $18.1M. After removing two outliers (The Bot Company and EvolutionaryScale), the average drops to $13.4M. The median total funding amount is $9.1M. For comparison, the median seed-stage funding size in the U.S. is $3.1M.
At the Series A stage, there are 40 startups, with an average total funding amount of $101M. After removing two outliers (Safe Superintelligence and Physical Intelligence), the average decreases to $67M. The median total funding amount is $32.3M. In comparison, the median Series A funding size in the U.S. is $15.5M.
Finally, there are four companies at the Series B stage: open-source large model startup Mistral AI, video generation startup Pika, code large model startup Poolside, and customer support agent startup Decagon.
